Who's behind Hartwell & Co
I qualified in 2009 and spent six years at a big City firm before opening this practice in Islington. I wanted to work differently, so I built a small team instead of a large one: it's me, two solicitors and a paralegal.
Most people who come to us have already been through another firm. They were passed between three different people and never got a straight answer about what it would cost. That's the exact problem we set out to fix.
Here, one person handles your case from the first call to the last letter. And before we start any work, you get a written estimate, so there are no surprises halfway through.
What bothers me most about this profession is hourly billing that nobody bothers to explain. So I quote fixed fees wherever the law allows it. When I genuinely can't, I tell you the range to expect and why the cost might move within it.
